FFA Knows How to Have Fun

-Justin Thomas & Jordan Gonzales

PV’s FFA had a ball during their first meeting of the school year which consisted of dodgeball, root beer floats, and pizza. Throughout the meeting, members got an idea of ways to get involved in what’s coming to PV’s FFA chapter this school year. Students looking to get involved right away can participate in the most upcoming event: the Opening and Closings speaking competition on October 1st.

FFA advisor, Mr. Ponce hopes that this year will be as exciting as last night’s meeting. “The meeting reached above my expectations with its great turnout and the energetic incoming members. Overall it was a lot of fun and I expect the chapter activities to have the same high level of attendance, participation, and competition."

You Could be “The Best” at Something What Would it be?

We all wish we could be the best at something whether it’s being proficient in math or simply learning how to draw the perfect circle. Anything is possible if we are determined and we believe that we can make it happen. The key is to never give up!

“If I could be the best at something it would have to be talking in front of a lot of people. I tend to get nervous easily and start to stutter. I want to improve how I talk when I’m presenting to a group of people or to a class. I would really like to be able to talk with lots of confidence.” Joanna Alfaro (11)

“If I could be the best at anything, I would become a great mentor to all the young kids because  I’ve had so many opportunities throughout my 4 years of HS and I could offer my advice to those in need.” Deysi Mungia (12)

“If there was one thing I could be the best at, it would be fighting like Jackie Chan.” Jackie Villa (10)

“I would be the best at making money!” $$$ Jackie Olozagaste (10)

“I would want to be the best at drawing. All I can really draw is stick figures.” Isis Diaz (11)

To the man

Who lives in

My ears when

You call me, I

Appreciate you

More than the

Hair on the back

Of my neck.

Love is as delicate

As a chocolate

Teacup drenched

In lonely

and dipped in

"I miss you."

For picking strawberries

From branches of

Corporate buildings,

Burning sepia clouds

In a body of an ocean.
