Girls' Volleyball Hosts Royals

Girls Varsity Volleyball played Mission Prep yesterday, September 8th at home. The Panthers unfortunately lost to the Royals. With 25-31 in the first set, 23-14 in the second, and 25-12 in the third set, the Panthers struggled to pull through with a victory. Fortunately, they have the rest of the season to get that win. Go lady Panthers!

"Volleyball season has been good, there's been a lot of talent, and it’s just as matter of working together and learning the system. The ups and downs? The ups is seeing all the potential and the down is not getting all of the potential. I think we're going to keep getting better and towards the end of the season, when we play these teams again, I think we're going to show a lot of improvement and move along from there. Being the volleyball coach is great, they have a spontaneous attitude and they make it a pleasure to be here, they work really hard." JV Volleyball, Coach Guzman.

Freshman Take Dive into High School

Link Crew organized a pool party afterschool yesterday for PV’s freshman. It has already been a month since our youngins started their high school careers, and what better way to celebrate this memorable moment than with a pool party? There was music, there was laughter, and overall just a fun time to spend with friends at the pool. A raffle was also held in which winners were able to win Pioneer merch and some sweets. To commemorate our love for the freshman at PV, we gave them hours of fun making a splash under autumn's sky.

Forrest Gump Movie Review

Forrest Gump running to find his fly girl.

"I loved Forrest Gump! He was so cute when he was a kid." Cherry Inay (12)

-Lorenz Dodson

Based on a book by Winston Groom with the same title, Forrest Gump delivers the touching story of a naïve, yet incredibly optimistic man named Forrest Gump. The film guides us through the late 1950s and 1980s through the eyes of Forrest as his positivity towards life winds him up in major American historical events – from helping Elvis to write a song, to fighting in the Vietnam War, and influencing the invention of the smiley face. Tom Hanks plays Forrest brilliantly, the character is very lovable but especially when bounced off against the cynical Gary Sinise as Lt. Dan Taylor. Overall, Forrest Gump is a movie fit for the whole family despite some adult themes, and should definitely be watched at least once in your life.

The man, the myth, the legend, Lt. Dan. The friend of Forrest whom he met in Vietnam.

"Forrest Gump is one of the greatest movies of all time, he got shot in the butt in Vietnam. He's also a master level expert in Ping Pong,"
