Boys’ Water Polo Hosts Pirates
Boys’ Varsity Water Polo team took on the Morro Bay Pirates yesterday afternoon. Our panthers fought hard and played an amazing game, but the Pirates came out on top with a score of 10-17. The boys were doing great during the first half with awesome blocks from goalie, Juan Rangel but our panthers will have to fight harder in their next game. Go panthers!
"We fought hard against them with the teammates that we did have but due to complications our team was missing 3 of our key players that we needed to come out victorious. We won't let this loss tear us down; we are motivated and ready to get to work." -Andrew Eisner (12)
"Against Morro Bay our panthers started on top with a 2-0 lead but it wasn’t until the end of the half that we lost the lead. Andrew put up 10 points from all around the field and I had 5 full court assists. Next when we have our full team we will be sure to win." -Juan Rangel (12)

First Day of Senior Year
Senior year is by far the most fun, exciting year of high school. Although they're eager to start adulthood, seniors are trying to make their best year last. Seniors play a big role in representing our school because they are the people we look up to for anything. We love our seniors!
“My first day as a senior was actually pretty good because I started hanging out with new friends and I felt like I was a step closer to entering into the real world. I am shocked that time has gone by as fast as it has! High school has been a great experience. Make sure you don’t have any regrets.” -Ianniss Shamburger (12)
“My first day of being a senior? It was definitely my most relaxing day of high school. There was nothing to worry about, nothing to be scared of, and it was all fun just seeing the freshman. I also really enjoyed reconnecting with everyone.” -Gabriel Noriega (12)
"My first day was sensational like Harambe trending on Twitter. It was amazing seeing everybody dressed up and looking fresh like a subway footlong. My day was electrified like the Pokemon electrobuzz when a fight broke out, I swear that was as scandal as a loose sandal. When lunch came, I found out we had a burrito line and boy was I BURRITO LOCO when school was over. I was a happy camper. But then I was sad like the scene from Titanic with Jack and Rose because it was my last first day of high school." -Marcus "Coconut" Riconose (12)
"My first day was very stressful do to the fact that that I wasn't in the classes I wanted. After a couple days of working hard, the counselors were finally able to change my classes. It was weird knowing we were the "top dogs" on campus. I was excited to meet the new people at Pioneer. I was most excited about Syllabus week and free lunch for 2 weeks! With that being said, my first day of senior year wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worse." -Carlos Perez (12)
"My first day of senior year was a tad stressful. My schedule wasn't correct so I spent most of my time in random classes, but its okay because I made new friends."

Greater Tuna Starts Tomorrow!
Pioneer Valley High School is proud to present a comedic play named Greater Tuna! The production will be running from September 8th to September 10th so get your tickets soon! I managed to get interviews with the lead roles of Greater Tuna and this is what they had to say.
"Rehearsing for the play has been so enjoyable. We started in January, and it's been such a fun experience. Of course I'm excited! This has been one of the craziest, most exciting productions I've ever taken part in, and I can't wait! The main characters are most likely Arles and Thurston. They are the radio hosts of Tuna Texas and appear many times in the show. First off, let me just say there were many more ups than downs. I love this show so much and it is so entertaining. I have to say my favorite part of the production is the fact that I get to do it with my best friends as my co-star and crew members. The only downside I can really think of is how busy it makes me, but hey, it's drama! My overall experience has been amazing, I know I will remember this show fondly for many years to come. I know me and Devon are going to do amazing. We haven't been rehearsing this long for nothing!" Joe Madrigal (12).
"Rehearsing has been great! Like everything it was a little hard and difficult at first but it's been great. Oh yeah!!! I am so excited for the show and for people to come see it. The ups for the show is just to do what I love and to have this great opportunity to be in this play. There weren't really any downsides but I have just been very busy. Overall, I love it; it's been so fun working on it and it has been a good learning experience. I have learned more about acting and I am thankful for that. I think me and my co-star Joe are going to do great and have fun." Devon Alexander Fuller (12)
