In the first Girls Varsity Soccer home game of the season, our Lady Panthers fought hard against the Templeton Eagles, coming out on top with a score of 3-0. The night was cold but competition was running hot. The commentators had a broken Panther roar, so they improvised with their own panther screeches to cheer players on whenever we scored.
PTs: How did you feel about the first home game? How do you think the rest of the season will play out?
Olivia Lopez (right) : I feel like we have a lot of room for improvement and that we need to get to know each other better as players, but I have a lot of faith in the team overall! I think that we’ll have a really good season and do better than last year, as long as we keep working hard!
Lupita Aranda (left): The team really held it together today against the Eagles. Hopefully today’s game is a good sign of how we’ll perform the rest of the season.

Last night the girls Varsity Water Polo team faced off against our cross town rivals, Santa Maria High School. In the beginning of the first half, the Lady Panthers started off with a great lead over the Saints and was well on their way to victory. During the second half, Marissa Hernandez scored a total of 6 goals to get in the lead over the Saints making her the lead scorer of the game. With all the hard work and dedication of the team, they won in a blowout over the Santa Maria Saints, 11-2.

"They performed really well higher than any expectations I had for the girls. They really surprised me and all the viewers. I am really proud of our Panthers and I hope they continue playing this well throughout the season. We have a long road ahead of us. This is just the beginning." – Coach Munoz
