What do You Wish You had Known when You were a Freshman?
Most of us started our freshman year not really knowing what to expect, which is why we wish we could go back and redo some of the things we did or didn’t do. For example, the much greater amount of homework we had to do compared to junior high school. Freshman year can be quite frightening as well as exciting as freshmen adjust to their new school environment. High school is a big change compared from junior high and when freshman are about to start their first year, they tend to overthink, get nervous, and freak out. The used-to-be junior high schoolers soon realize it's not as bad as they thought it would be!
-Crystal Barriga
"I wish I had known how fast the year would go by, and that you can't relieve each year or change anything as it goes by, but you have to try your best. Oh and also, high school relationships are a waste of time, don’t focus on boys. Focus on the importance of getting good grades." -Marie Diaz (11)
“I wish I would’ve known that my old friends and I were going to separate during freshman year.” -Donny Pursley (11)
“Boys are not your main goal. Your education is more important, because you may get hurt and that’s not good for your self-esteem to be let down. Choose school over boys.” -Isis Diaz (11)
"I wish I had known how much work I was going to have to do and to not stress that much, because it would get easier over time.” -Vanessa Anguiano (10)
“During my freshman year, I wish I knew that it’s important to get involved in school.” -Kameron Ybarra (11)
Shelter Drive
October is here which means it is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! It is important to spread awareness as well as to help the victims and their children of domestic violence.

The SHARe (Safe Healthy Adolescent Relationships) Club will be holding a shelter drive in the form of a 4th period class competition to collect the most supplies for the people in need in our local domestic violence shelter (Domestic Violence Solutions). Some items that need to be collected include canned/boxed goods, toiletries, cleaning supplies, paper products such as paper towels, plates, and toilet paper, as well as baby supplies. Items will be collected at the beginning of November and the drive will be held up until October 31st. We look forward to all 4th period classes to participating!
