Justin Walker Memorial Scholarship Benefit
Justin Walker was remembered this past weekend as the Panthers and other local schools played basketball at the Justin Walker Memorial Scholarship Benefit here at PVHS. For their first match up, the Panthers had a tough game against SLO High School, ending with 15-31 score. In the second game, we played against Righetti High School, which was just as challenging, ending 31-55. All of these basketball players played with their heart and passion for their sport and Justin’s memory.

Athletic Director, Greg Lanthier, said both Justin and Milinda had the desire to become varsity players and were good students on-and-off the court. “Although we cannot prevent tragedy, it is important how we react,’’ Lanthier said. “The PVHS Athletic Department wants to do its part in keeping the memory of Justin and Milinda alive.”

Last year, the games featuring SMJUHSD, SLO, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo and Cabrillo basketball teams raised about $2,100. All proceeds from the $5 admission and concessions go to the fund. The Milinda Para Memorial Scholarship Benefit is scheduled for Oct. 22nd inside the gym.

Friday's Pride Day Pix
Our PV Panthers showed their pride on Friday. The Freshman class of 2020 dressed for France, the Sophomore Class of 2019 dressed up for Mexico, the Junior class of 2018 dressed up for Greece, and the Senior class of 2017 dressed up for America. Our school was so supportive in dressing up for the St. Joes dress up week and we should all be proud to have such a spirited school!
