Panthers Sample Higher Education Options

This past Tuesday seniors went to a higher education event at PV and discovered new colleges that they could attend. There were many colleges presenting including: The University of Utah, UC Davis, Chico State, UC San Diego, UC Berkley, Fresno State, UC Long Beach, UC Arizona, UCSB, UTI, Fashion Club Institute, and much more. Many students were able to decide upon the career/degree combination and the perfect college to match. Others weren't so lucky but they might have found their second choice. Students were able to ask questions and get the advice they needed. Get your SAT/ACT tests done ASAP, also start signing up for scholarships because they are a major help once you go to college.

“It's was cool that these universities took their time to come to our school to give us this very helpful information. I want to go to UC Irvine and mayor in psychology.”

“I thought that the event was pretty neat, I got to talk to representatives from some colleges I was looking at, which was great. I was able to ask questions and understand what they were looking for in an applicant. I do wish that there were more colleges, though, a wider variety, more colleges from out of state. I'm not sure which college I want to go to, but I want to major in Biology, which will hopefully lead me into medical school.” Wardie Ghali (12)

"I think it was a very good learning experience; now I know what you need to make it to college; what classes and GPA. I want to try and go to the University of Arkansas and I want to be a graphic designer. ” Alan Vannostrand (12)

“I thought it was great that they came to our school to give us more information in applying for their universities and letting us know what kind of classes they have. I want to major in criminology and my top three universities are Fresno State, Long Beach and San Francisco.” Dulce Garduño (12)
