Art Exchange: A Generous & Beautiful Way to Remember Ian M Hassett

“I love it, I really needed some new paper (I spilled oil on all my paper, it was really sad) I hope all these people actually are artists and will use the stuff they are getting , and not just getting free stuff!! -Oscar Medina (9)

“This is such a great idea! I normally don’t have enough money to buy art supplies for myself, so this is really helpful for me. I appreciate everything the Ian Hassett foundation are doing for us. Thank you!” -Jennifer Oropeza (10)

-Cacilda Ramirez & Xayda Gonzalez

“I think this is an amazing idea, plus it’s free and it’s a great way to get paints if you are too lazy to go to Michaels and by some” -Cameron Inman (9)

Well I think I made a pretty good decision I know I will be getting to work real soon, this was really cool and I had fun, they offer a wide variety of supplies such as: paints, brushes, sketch pads, and pens it’s crazy!

–Ody Santos (12)

Ian M Hassett was an artist with a passion and dream. He wanted to share it with others as well. Ian’s parents, Stefanie Hassett and Eric Hassett carried on his dream. Ian passed away at the age of 19 from cancer, after he graduated Righetti HS in 2012. His dream was to form a scholarship for artists. Ian wished to award an art scholarship of $1,000 each year to graduating high school seniors.

Stefanie said kindly, “My son realized how expensive the supplies were, he wanted other artists to be able to work and do well, so we thought let’s just give it away. We connected artists and companies and they support us, The Artist exchange!  We go to all the high schools in the valley. This makes me feel great, I know my son would be pretty happy about this, it was his dying wish.”

I’m very thankful for the art supplies that I got. It’s really very generous how they gave supplies to the students and wanted nothing in exchange. When I went I didn’t know they were giving out supplies, I thought it was just an art display. -Xareni Hernandez (11)

Comme Des Garçons Clothing Review

"I like the brand it's cool but it's expensive. I love the comme des garçons wind breaker the one Kodak Black wore on XXL. The shoes that I have are pretty comfortable and have a soft insole, but it's a bit wearing out. Other that that the brand is overall great and stylish." - Lorenz Dodson (12)

"The clothes are too expensive for what the design is, but I would have to say that the cardigans are really nice. I also love the shoes and yes I would buy them, like I plan on getting them soon I need to have them." - Diana Morales" (11)

Pharrell Williams

"The design and colors are really nice. The colors especially, it is very clean and elegant. The brand itself is very minimalist." - Keydi Gracida (10)

"The brand is a bit too girly for me, but I guess it's pretty cool. It's like a rich kid brand and all fancy. I would probably get the basic t-shirt and the shoes. I like how it is very different from other brands." - Uriel Truijillo (12)
