Down to the Upsetting Express

-Xayda Gonzales

Authentic cultural food is great, but when you come to a restaurant that promises this authenticity and doesn't come through, it's quite upsetting. Personally, I love Chinese food, it's rich in flavor and aesthetically pleasing. I've gone to quite a few Chinese restaurants before but this one didn't measure up, Panda Express. Don't get me wrong, it used to be good, but having the chance to eat there again and giving it another try, it was not satisfying.

The chow mien was dry, the Beijing beef was overwhelmed with sugary tangy sauce. I couldn't even taste the spices beside the sugar, it was so overwhelming. I could give them one thing, the fried rice was an exception it was flavorful. Lastly their Five Flavor Shrimp was okay, the only set back was the lack of spices. Other than that, it was exceptional. About their customer service, the lines were not too bad. They did fail on fast friendly service; they took about ten minutes to bring out my food. Adding to this, they lacked presentation on the food overall. Panda Express disappointed, but it could have been a bad day; perhaps I will give it one more try in hopes that it will get better...
