Gardens
Let's make a garden in our
Dreams that will last forever,
Until the vines from
Our chests intertwine
With the same soil.
The thoughts of you are
Gently kissed onto my
Forehead and my heart
starts to blossom.
And with every kiss
You plant in my mind,
The walls around me
crumble into rose petals.
The layers fall until
I am left without the thorns,
Unguarded in your warm
Blooming chest and sunshine eyes.
Yet you still wonder why
I always smell like flowers.
Prom Tickets on Sale Now!
"Prom is right around the corner and I think all seniors should go. Ticket prices are $45 and it will be held at the Veterans' Hall. I think it'll be a memorable event for all since it is one of our last events all together, which is why everyone should attend. Our senior officers have been putting in a great deal of planning into this event and I can't wait to see how it all plays out!"

Horizon Zero Dawn
-Daniel Rodriguez
The recently released “Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. The plot revolves around Aloy, a hunter and archer living in a world overrun by robots. Having been outcast her whole life, she sets out to discover the dangers that kept her sheltered. The character makes use of ranged, melee weapons and stealth tactics to combat the mechanised creatures, whose remains can also be looted for resources. A skill tree facilitates gameplay improvements. The game features an open world environment for Aloy to explore, divided into tribes that hold side quests to undertake, while the main story guides her throughout the whole world.” -Wikipedia
"The graphics look really realistic and unique. I find it funny how it's only for PlayStation 4 and it has its own style of gameplay."
-Jesus Asuncion (11)
"I think the game is great. I believe Xbox doesn’t deserve it. The game reminds me of Encharted but with Avatar and transformers mixed up into one." -Daniel Jacobo (10)
"I would maybe recommend PS4 users buy the game, you’ll get your money's worth."
–Anthony Torres (9)

How About Them Apples?
-Xayda Gonzalez
PVHS Horticulture Ornamental class had the chance to learn how to graft a pink lady apple tree with help from special guests representing The California Rare Fruit Growers. As a class they went step by step through the process of creating their own Pink Lady apple tree. In doing a stem graft, a shoot of a selected, desired plant cultivar is grafted onto the stock of another type. When you graft a tree you create an identical clone and the tree should produce the same growth as the first tree. The trees should be in a growth spurt in early July and will be transferred out of their pot. Then later in December they should produce some leaves, and in about two years will hopefully grow crisp, tasty, and delicious Pink Lady apples.

Mr. Guerra, PVHS Horticulture Ornamental teacher, "'This class reminds me of the quote in the Lorax when in the prosses of growing and taking care of our plants, 'Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not. Dr. Seuss, The Lorax'''
Mauro Rodriguez, 12 "My first time grafting trees was an amazing and educational experience. Now that I know I would like to graph more and create my own trees."
Randi Robertson, 10, "I thought grafting the trees were a really cool experience. It was also kind of fun to do it and cant wait to see what my tree would look like."
Angelica Negrete, 12, "I liked being around the old people they're pretty rad, bro."
Julissa Gutierrez, 12, "I wish we could do this more often it was pretty exciting; the old people made it even more fun because they were so cute!"
Craig Lodes, 12, "I found it amazing that we were able to take just sticks from totally different trees and make a whole new one grow!"
