Panthers Agree: You Can’t Take it with You
Yesterday, our English department took about 150 Panthers on a trip to Hancock’s PCPA to see the play You Can't Take it With You written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. This play touches on the family unit and their abilities to have an open mind and an open heart to different types of people that exist in the world, in contrast with them. The first family shown seems to be dysfunctional, but full of love, whereas the second family is pure wealth. The daughter of the first family and the son of the second family let their feelings take in, forcing their families to meet and accept the differences between the two. This play was performed by our own drama department in the fall of 2014. Watching the play be performed by professional and college students at PCPA gives a clearer and well-put show that allows its audience and our Panthers to enjoy and understand the overall theme of the story. Here's what some people thought of the play:
"I really enjoyed the play, I thought it was really funny and it was enjoyable. I hope next year I can go." - Kia C. (9)
"The play was, okay, it was very interesting and it was really funny." - Joshua Rodriguez (12)
"It was a really funny play. I thought the characters interacted very well and the students all seemed to enjoy it." - Mrs. Davis

PV's Strongest Bound for Russia
Mr. Magni is preparing for his next competition that will be held in Russia May 12-14. The competition is called The World's Arm Lifting Championships. He has been training every day; each morning he starts off with cardio and then moves onto training with weights. His Instagram is Riccardomagni1 and everyone should go follow it because he posts daily videos of his training. For the leaderboard, Mr. Magni is in first place of 55.5 lbs for the Dub Hub (shallow) and he beat his old record. For the Dub Hub (deep), he is in second with 70.9 lbs. He didn't expect to get invited to Russia, but he did believe in himself and knew there was a possibility. We wish you luck and hope you have an amazing time in Russia. We are all so proud that you made it this far! Good Luck!!!
-Elizabeth Morales
"Very excited to go and compete in Russia." -Mr.Magni
News to Know:
"Prom is right around the corner and I think all seniors should go. Ticket prices are $45 and it will be held at the Veterans' Hall. I think it'll be a memorable event for all of since it is one of our last events all together, which is why everyone should attend. Our senior officers have been putting in a great deal of planning into this event and I can't wait to see how it all plays out!"
