Elegant Gowns and Dashing Tuxedos

The prom fashion show this past Friday was a showcase of outfits from various shops in Santa Maria. David’s Bridal, Casa Blanca, and Appletree provided the attire for the ASB student models. The girls strutted their stuff and showed off their bomb outfits while the guys nicely complimented them as arm candy and wore dapper tuxes. The point of this fashion show was to get people thinking about their attire for the much anticipated night on May 13th.
Crystal Bianca:
I had a lot of fun participating in the fashion show! I really liked the dress I wore although I already had an idea of what kind of dress I wanted, but it did make me even more excited about prom.
Aileen Martinez:
I thought the fashion show would’ve been more fun. Being in the showcase did help me figure out what kind of dress I want to wear for prom, though. Being in this event definitely got me more excited for prom!
Ahoy! Santa Ynez Pirates Made Scallywags by Pioneer Panthers
It was a cold and dreary Saturday afternoon, the sun wasn’t shining but the boy’s Varsity Baseball team was. With the first preseason win at 6-3, the Panthers made the Pirates walk the plank. It was such a great win that we blew them away on the windy day. D.J. Martinez hit them an RBI and sent many guys to home; that got them the leg up on Santa Ynez. The boys in the dugout cheered on their teammates. Pioneer Valley may have two “L”s in our name, but we ain’t taking no “L”s this baseball season.
Does this preseason win make you confident in how you are going to do for the rest of the year?
David Martinez: I think the game this Saturday showed how the team we have this year won't go down without a fight. We were trailing for most of the game but in the last inning fought back to win. If that is any indication of how this season will go, then I'm pretty confident.
Tony Rodriguez: Winning the preseason game wasn't what gave me confidence for this year's league it was the time spent with my team and the chemistry to know that trust will be there for an epic comeback or for support on and off the field.
