LITTLE MOON/ LITTLE SUNSHINE

my little moon, you have forgotten to shine

you have forgotten

to love the tidal waves every day

my little sunshine, you have remembered to

kiss the sky goodnight

when the little moon comes

you love

you miss

you shine the brightest glow

with the most

radiant smile you can.

my little sunshine, my little moon

remember well what you

have hated

keep them

behind your crater

keep them behind your heat.

breath the love from under your

nose

respect touching but caress

each other until

you cannot feel your fingertips.

admire your imperfections

love each other until it hurts.

remember each other even if you

kiss other people goodnight.

my little moon.

my little sunshine.

Girls’ Soccer Leaves for Ventura HS Today,

First CIF Game in PV History

-Tina Bulosan

"My uncles inspired me to play soccer when I was 5 years old and I've been playing ever since. I'm passionate about the sport because it gives me the opportunity to show what I'm capable of. I feel really proud of the team because we were able to prove a lot of people wrong. A lot of people like to underestimate PV, but what they don't understand is that we're not the same team as before." -Kasandra Bright (12, #19)

"It started as just something to keep me busy as a 6-year-old, but over the years, my love for the sport grew and it became a major part of my life. Making CIF and history is a great feeling because we are leaving a mark on our school and worked so hard to do so." -Olivia Lopez (12, #15)

"I am so excited about making CIF and history at PVHS after all four years being here. It has been our goal to make it, and we did, and I am so proud of my team! My team and I gave it our all and kept fighting for what we wanted and believed we can do it!" -Patty Rubio (12, #14)

Here's to our varsity girls and their big break at making it to CIF! These ladies have given it their all this season and it has definitely paid off. This is the first time that our girls have made it to CIF and it sure will be a memorable one. With blood, sweat and tears, they have proved that they can absolutely prevail. Good luck at CIF, ladies!

Boys’ Varsity Basketball Celebrates Senior Night

It was an eventful night this past Friday, PV hosted its last Boys' Varsity Basketball Game of the season, along with celebrating Senior Night, and the memory of Justin Walker. Before the anticipated and intense game against cross town rival, Righetti Warriors, the community surrounding the Pioneer Valley Panthers, acknowledged the team’s seniors. This consisted of Arman Ladan, Steven Albritton, Jack Pugh, Jesse Contreras, and Leo Partida.

After seeing the heartwarming ceremony for the Seniors, it was clear how important this game was to the team. Afterwards, a moment of silent was noticed for our fallen basketball player Justin Walker, and commemorated his life and love for basketball with a jersey so he could remain in our hearts. Great Job Seniors for your inspiring amount of effort and teamwork this season.  The intense and very close game went into overtime, but ended in the Warriors' favor. It was a thrilling experience and made for some great memories.

Quote of the Week

"You don't need someone to complete you. You only need someone to accept you completely."- Unknown

Love is in the air because today is Valentine’s Day! Today is the day for the ones you care about and love. It doesn't matter how long you have known the person, all that matters is that they have been there for you through everything. Being with someone that you can trust, care for, and love is the most important thing in a relationship to me.

-Elizabeth Morales

"I do agree with this quote because you don't need someone else to complete you just someone to accept you for who you are. I don't think this quote relates to me because I have already accepted myself and that makes me happy. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years" -Gabriela Rivas

"I agree with this quote. I do believe this quote relates to me because, a lot of the time, people want to find someone who makes them feel whole, when in reality they have been whole this whole time. I find it important that, someone is able to accept my days when I don't feel whole or I'm not as happy as always. I have been together with my boyfriend for two months, and I hope for many more!" - Clarielisa Ocampo

"Yes I do agree with the quote. Yes I feel the quote relates to me because feeling accepted by another is a great feeling. I have been with him for 2 and a half years"

-Cidnee Cabriales

"I agree but disagree with this quote. Arnie and I both complete each other but also accept each other completely. It's tough to trust and feel comfortable with someone you don't accept, but with us, we've talked about each other's past and rough time and things that make us who we are. He's literally my best friend, I can always count on him to tell me what I need to hear and be there when I need him. I'm glad he and I both accept each other for who we are and who we've come to be. He's my other half, he completes me. It's going to be 6 months that we've been together on the 18th"  -Andrea Meza

Valentine's Day Origin

It's that time of the year where we bust out our wallets to buy Valentine's Day cards, chocolates, and flowers to express our love for the ones that count most! Whether it being a family member, friend, or your partner, it's that time to show how much you care. We celebrate this loving day on the 14th of February but no one knows how it really came about. Valentine's Day originated as a Christian-based celebration of St. Valentine, a Roman saint in the third century.

There are several legends about him and how he became so well-known. Some include Valentine being a priest in Rome when Emperor Claudius II concluded that single men perform better as soldiers than those whom of which are married with children. This caused Claudius to ban young men from marrying. Valentine thought of this as an injustice and continued to marry off young men in secret. Another legend claims that a man named Valentine was in prison but sent the first ever Valentine's Day card to a young woman whom visited him during his confinement. Before his execution, he signed his letter: "From your Valentine" which is a phrase people still use today. Valentine's Day is a day in which we celebrate his death or burial that occurred around A.D. 270 on February 14th. Happy Valentine's Day and remember to give a hug and share the love!
