Valentine’s Day Dinner on a Dime

Everybody loves food whether it's expensive or not, but sometimes the price actually matters. At times, it’s okay to spend a lot of money for food but then again, it’s just ridiculous to spend a lot of money for food, especially if it turns out to be a small meal. Valentine’s Day is coming up really quick which means that our money will be gone in the blink of an eye. There are certain places that aren't that expensive and they serve decent food, which is great. Here are some people’s thoughts and restaurants:

-Cacilda Ramirez

"The cheapest place to go to on Valentine’s Day would be New Ocean restaurant. It's super affordable Chinese food and super tasty as well!"

-Ruby Mendez (12)

"I would eat out at Applebee's, because it’s affordable and they have their special of the 2 for $20 deal" -Stephen Esparza (12)

"The cheapest place to go to on Valentine’s Day is probably Hometown Buffet. It's in town and it’s all you can eat!" -Linda Beltran (12)

"I'd eat at Applebee's because they have the special 2 for $20 or the 2 for $25." -Oscar Vargas Acosta (12)

Get a Pizza This!

-Xayda Gonzalez

When I think of pizza, I think of BLAZE! Santa Maria has a Blaze Pizza in town; Free pizza Friday! The grand opening is this Friday February 10th, 2017 so don’t miss out on a GREAT pizza! All you have to do to get the free pizza is follow Blaze on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and show the casher.

Having the chance to take a sneak peek at the new Blaze, I fell in love with their pizza. It is honestly the best pizza I have ever had. The environment is super friendly and welcoming and their food is fantastic with flavorful aspects. It truly changes the way one eats pizza.  Blaze is known for having an artisanal pizza, hand-crafted with their signature "light as air" crust. Blaze provides FAST, FUN, AND FRIENDLY BLAZE SERVICE! They serve G.R.E.A.T. PIZZA. GREAT pizza is GOLDEN BROWN, ROUND, has an EVENLY SPREAD, SINGLE LAYER OF TOPPINGS, has A HALF INCH CRUST, and is THIN & CRISP.

The concept of Blaze is similar to Subway’s, however they have their own twist to it. Their thin air crust is light but filling, and you won’t feel icky and gross after eating a whole personal pizza afterwards. They have their signature pizzas and you also have the choice to build your own pizza.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Well Blaze also has brownies and s'more pies baked fresh every day. Who could go wrong here? You can make so many different creations. Stop by and give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Can Money Buy Happiness?

How you use your money can have an impact on your happiness. There are things that you can buy that make you happy, but does it really satisfy you? Something you can't buy with money is family or friends. Family and friends are very important and no amount can buy you people that love and care about you. Spend your money on the most important things first and then you can buy yourself a little treat. Something amazing you can do is, instead of buying yourself something, buy a gift for someone else. I guarantee you it will bring a smile to their face. Tell us what you think, can money buy you happiness?

"Yes, I guess. If you're poor or need something, you need money to lift you up. But if you want to fill up a space in your life, money is not the solution. I think money cannot fill gaps in your life to make you happy. At times, buying something has made me happy, but it only lasted for a awhile. Friends and family cannot be bought and they last a lifetime. I do feel like money is a necessity though."

-Sadie Samantha Amaya, (12)

"Can money buy happiness? It depends because when you spoil yourself you're happy, but also you need to surround yourself with people that care about you and love you. Nothing can buy that."

-Anahi Gonzalez, (11)

"I say no, money does not buy happiness. Money doesn’t buy happiness because it doesn’t make you happy. You can't buy love with money. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you love something, you shouldn’t have to put it in a cost." -Vanessa Sanchez (12)

-Araceli Flores

"No, money does not buy happiness because family and friends are more important to me than any other. You cannot put a price on something as valuable as that. A lot of celebrities have money and live a luxurious life, but then they end up committing suicide because they are depressed or unhappy. I feel like people can be truly happy without money as long as there is love." -Dulce Garduño (12)
