Quote of the Week
-Elizabeth Morales
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time" -Thomas A. Edison
To me, this quote means it's easy to give up on the first try. We shouldn't give up if we didn't give it our all on our first attempt. Life isn't always going to come easy to us, so we have to keep on trying and trying until we accomplish it. It may take us a few times, but as long as you are trying and not giving up so easily, that is all that matters. I agree with this quote because if you give up so easy, where is that going to take you in life?
-Elizabeth Morales
"This quote can actually be valuable because we will experience so many failures in life, but as long as we keep a positive mindset and continue trying, success can be achieved. When I read this quote it gives me a bit of motivation because it's true that we should continue on being our own form of self-motivation" -Sua Vargas (12)
"In order to get to where you want to be, you'll have to work hard through the obstacles. Even when it gets tough, you keep on going other than just giving up. Last semester, I was doing poorly in school and couldn't keep up my grades. Playing sports, having seven classes, and trying to maintain my social life was definitely difficult to manage. It was stressful and very overwhelming. Being that this was my first year, I didn't know how to handle it all but I knew I had to stop slacking off and get myself together. Now I'm more motivated than ever to get to an academic standing that I'm content with"
-Maricor Acosta (9)
"I do agree with the quote. I think you shouldn't give up so easy. Keep trying and trying until you get it. Not everyone gets something the first try but you just got to keep trying and eventually you will succeed"

Last Friday, our Girls’ Varsity Soccer team played Arroyo Grande High in our last home game. The first half of the game was a stalemate between the two teams, with neither team scoring. Things picked up, however, during the second half when senior, Patty Rubio scored all 3 goals, securing the win for Pioneer. Despite being their last home game, their senior night wasn’t Friday, but will be next Friday on the 10th along with Boys’ Varsity Soccer.
PV's Girls Wrestlers Reign Over Northern Region
Pioneer Valley HS hosted the CIF Northern Regional championships for girls wrestling this past Saturday. This is the fourth year of the tournament and once again our lady panther wrestlers were victorious. Our girls finished 1st out of 32 teams and qualified 13 out of 14 girls to the CIF Masters Meet Friday and Saturday at Elenor Roosevelt HS in Corona.
The boys get their chance this Saturday as they head to the Pac 8 League Championships on Saturday at Righetti HS. This will be their opportunity to see if they can punch their own tickets to CIF. -Coach Ilac

"I think the quote is very true and to me seems motivating. The first thing that comes to mind is that this can be applicable to anyone in life. I agree with this quote because we are exposed to the positives and negatives" Kayla Alarcon (11)
