Freshman Basketball Scored Out
Lately, our freshman basketball teams have been giving the game their all, and sometimes that’s enough. On Friday, our boys’ freshman basketball team went up against St. Joseph’s, and they gave it their best “shot”, but to no avail. The score was 30-67, and there were excellent shots. For a while the score kept changing from our favor to theirs, but in the end our players did all they could, and that’s okay. On Monday, our freshman girls also tried their best when it came to playing against Paso Robles. Even though both our teams were unsuccessful in taking home the win, the teamwork is outstanding, and so is how united they are as a team. Maybe next time they’ll take home the win, and if they don’t, it doesn’t matter –they play for the love of the game, love for the team, and love for PV. And that is more than enough. –Jasmin Chavez

Nike Flyknit Racer Reviewed
The hate and the love of the shoe has been discussed among sneaker enthusiasts. The flyknit racer has been out for quite a while, but as Nike being Nike they are always releasing new colorways and new styles of the shoe. It is made with the Nike flyknit material that makes it super lightweight and comfortable. The material molds to you foot and keeps it secured. Many people love the flyknit racer for its super lightweight feature. The shoe is literally like the weight of 2 apples exactly 6 ounces. This shoe is specifically designed for runners, but most people just like the look and wear it like any other sneaker to walk in. However, some shoe enthusiasts claim that this sneaker is not comfortable at all and the durability is bad. People either like the shoe a lot or hate it and prefer Adidas over Nike specifically ultra boost over the Nike Racers. To end all the talk about the shoe I will take a trip to the local footlocker and champs and see for myself how the shoe is and maybe buy for a follow up review.

So I took the trip to Footlocker and champs and both stores had them. They had them in the Black and White colorway. My first impressions were that the bottoms were very hard, but it was amazingly light and felt like I wasn't holding anything as if my phone was heavier. I tried them on in a size 9.5 which is my usual size and the shoe is true to size. The moment I put them on and stood up I knew they were something else. The bottoms, which I was worried about because it was hard, it almost felt like it wasn’t even there and it literally felt like I was wearing hard socks. The only downside that I felt with the shoe is the durability. I have a wider foot and it just felt like it would break over a period of time less than the average running shoe. For $150 I believe it is ideal for people who go to the gym or run casual and extreme. I will be purchasing soon and write a follow-up story.
"I have seen the all black colorway and that was so fine. I would definitely buy the all black ones and for it being super light it’s really amazing. I know the all black ones are hard to get, but I will check out some websites to maybe purchase it. I have been wanting them for awhile." - Joshua Martinez (12)
"It looks very comfortable and it would be very good for working out and running. I honestly would wear the shoe everywhere. They just have a casual but serious about running style. People wouldn’t think it’s just a running shoe, its style is casual and sporty at the same time."
- Aliyah Valencia (9)
"Yeah they are pretty cool, the fact that it's super lightweight is awesome but for myself, I feel like I'd only buy them if I was serious about running. I honestly need to get back to running soon; I just have been lazy. If I do start running again though, I will be sure to check these out."
- Edrick Rodriguez (11)
"The shoe looks nice, but it isn't my style, though I don’t think I would buy them because of the usual shoes I like. The fact that it only weighs 6 ounces is mind blowing, but yeah for me, I just wouldn’t buy or wear them."
