Boys' Varsity Basketball Hosts Arroyo Grande
Friday night, the Arroyo Grande Eagles took flight against the Panthers at our Gym. Unfortunately, we lost, but the boys’ varsity basketball team put up a good fight. The game provided a good example of the Panthers’ teamwork and gave us a preview of what to expect at the highly anticipated Righetti game this Friday night at RHS.

Would you say you are proud of how you and your teammates played in this game? What are you feeling towards the game against Righetti?

“Yes, of course I am proud of how my teammates and I played overall, but we just got to come out stronger and better as we progress through the season. The game next week is nerve-wracking, the crowds are always hyped up over there at Righetti, but I think it will be an experience.” -T.T. Allbritton (12)

“Yeah, I feel proud of the way that the team is starting to come together and figure out how to play together, taking into account the little amount of time that we have been playing together as a whole unit. I’m very excited to continue to grow as a team and take our improvement forward, especially against Righetti, which I think will be very good game.” -Jack Pugh (12)

“I wasn’t really proud on how we played, I feel like we could’ve played way better than we actually did. I’m looking forward to playing Righetti this Friday, it should be good.” -Salvador Villa (11)

“I’m always proud of the work we put into the games, but I feel like we could’ve done better. My teammates and I always work hard and put in effort so I feel like some more practice and communication will better our playing. I’m really excited for this game against Righetti, I feel like we have a strong chance of beating them.” -D.J. Martinez (11)

Baby Lamb Dissection
On January 11, 2017, Ms. Linne had her first lamb dissection. This lamb was her own and it was a new born that had died a couple days after birth due to birth complications. Although it was sad that it died, in death it helped PV students see what a real life lamb looked like from the inside. Although it was very interesting, many students were put off by the bad smell of the fully open lamb.
Be warned, the following pictures are graphic!
“I thought that it was very interesting because I’ve never seen the insides of a lamb besides a chickens insides. The lamb was very different compared to a chicken. I felt sorry for the lamb because it didn’t get to experience life." Jesus Camacho (11)
“I thought it was pretty interesting seeing the structure of the digestive system it was cool. I like animals and I like learning about them." Sophia Tovar (11)

MLK Dreams
Trembling hands and
Muffled cries are boarded up.
They hide behind layers of locked doors
as eyes closed shut,
Trying to hide the pain in their silence.
We all dream.
Pounding feet on the
Broken sidewalks march on.
Fists are raised high as the
Choir sings songs of peace.
We will dream.
We will make it come true.
